Touch the Tape is a short art film made for the Mini-Kino open call in 2024.
The goal was to create a short film on the randomly chosen topic.
My topic was “Include at least one close-up shot of skin.”
The original idea was based on the sentence “You can touch the tape” by Tyko Say
from the Object:Paradise collective while explaining his reasons for shooting their events
and performances on VHS tape instead of digital. The sentence stuck with me
and I decided to build the film around it.
The film was shot in a single evening using a Panasonic NV-R50 -
a VHS-C camcorder emulated directly into the video recording software.
